11-01-21
I hope that you and your loved ones are keeping well.
Now that we are in our third lockdown I wanted to clarify how we can help you in this challenging time.
We are open.
We are able to see patients for essential and emergency eyecare.
What is essential and emergency eyecare?
If you are experiencing any vision problems, eye strain, headaches, or are generally concerned about your eye health then please call us to book an appointment. The one thing the first lockdown taught us was that many people ignored their visual problems resulting in unneccessary difficulties.
The practice will remain staffed every day and we are available by phone (01279757767) or email (frontdesk@martinreynoldsopticians.co.uk) if you’d like products posted to you in order to avoid an unnecessary visit to Bishops Stortford. If you do wish to cancel or reschedule any existing appointment then we fully understand and will be happy to arrange this.
These are worrying times for us all, but I speak for the whole team when I say that we will be working hard through this period to ensure we provide the best care and service that’s possible within the rules that we must follow.
Practice Opening times:
Clinics will run on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday - 9.00am to 4.30pm, although the practice will be open Monday to Saturday (9.00am to 5.30pm).
Appointment slots have been extended to 40 minutes for an eye examination, 20 minutes for children. This is to allow time to clean the instruments and change any PPE that is required.
Other Changes:
As a practice we have always taken the safety of our patients seriously. With Covid 19 that responsibility is more important than ever, and we would like to explain some of the measures we are taking to keep you safe during your next visit.
If you would like to book an appointment please call us on 01279 757767 and we will gladly book this for you.
Thank you for your patience, rest assured your eyecare is our priority and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
With best wishes

As a practice we have always taken the safety of our patients seriously. With Covid 19 that responsibility is more important than ever, and we would like to explain some of the measures we are taking to keep you safe during your next visit.
- All visits to the practice will be by appointment. Please call us to book an eye examination, dispense, or repair. This will allow us to control the number of people in the practice at any one time.
- As you would expect we have increased the frequency that the practice is cleaned and disinfected and we are also ensuring that all common touch points are cleaned in between patients, including frames.
- Our team will be wearing the appropriate level of PPE as advised by Public Health England.
- We would also ask that when attending an appointment that all patients/clients wear a face mask/covering. No gloves please.
If you would like to book an appointment please call us on 01279 757767 and we will gladly book this for you.
Thank you for your patience, rest assured your eyecare is our priority and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
